Mt. Gassan is the heaviest snow place in Japan. Gassan ski resort is open from April to July. Here is so unique ski resort. The best season to go backcountry is April. We can have a over 10km of long slope cruising course,

We take the chair lift to 1600m (5300feet) high and hike up about 30min.1~2 times go down from the summit of Mt.Uba to the Onsen area, which altitude is about 1000m.

8:00 Start Mt.Gassan back country tour
We go to the summit of Mt.Gassan or Mt.Yudono. Hike up about 2-3hours. This is for an expert skiers and snowboarders tour.

Day 1
You may come from Tokyo or Chitose by flight or a bullet train. We will pick you up depending on your transportation. Below is an example itinerary from Niseko or other Hokkaido ski resorts.
15:50 Arrive at Yamagata airport by JL2843 14:35/15:50 from New Chitose airport. Shuttle bus take you to the hotel directly.
17:30 Check-in at the hotel of Gassan Pole Pole farm
Day 2
8:00 Mt.Gassan is an almost 2000m (6500 feet) high mountain. Today, we go to the mountain for a backcountry. We take a snow-cat and hike up to the 1600m (5300 feet) high. Enjoy wonderful powder snow without competition.
16:00 After backcountry skiing, we go back to a cozy mountain villa and have eary dinner.
18:00 Last night of Yamagata is the local night ski are experience. You may enjoy memorial night powder snow.

Day 3
9:00 Whole day ski or snowboard activity in Mt.Gassan ski resort. A ski or snowboard guide attend you to nice slopes and Gelände restaurants.
15:30 Go to Yamagata station or Yamagata airport. You arrive at Tokyo at 22:00.

The charter car pick you up at Yamagata Airport or Yamagata Station. You can choose a transportation way from some routes.
Yamagata Shinkansen bullet train is from Tokyo station. It does take 2.5 hours and every hour is available.
